So I just ordered a RAY34. While reviews are stellar on these, I've only read of two minor complaints:

1 - They can be heavy. And I've also read that since they are swamp ash, some may be heavy, while others may be light.

2 - Some are OK with the tuners while others say they are just a bit cheap feeling.

I already have a Hipshot Xtender laying around which I plan on putting on her and I may (or may not) also upgrade the rest of the tuners. So my question obviously is.....are the peg holes in the headstock the same size as a U.S. spec Ray?

Thanks!
Quadz....

I don't know, and it's certainly worth asking, but...

...won't that question answer itself the day the bass arrives?

:p

Absolutely, but I have two reasons for asking the question:

1: I'm bored right now and am curious ;) !

2: See the above. No seriously, hoping that I can use my Hipshot Bass Xtender on it as I have one on all of my basses and they save me a lot of time during live shows.

:D ;)

HI Quadz,
I just measured one of our tuner holes:

Bushing hole size - inner diameter of bushing hole 14.18mm
Tuner hole size - inner diameter of hole that bushing fits into 17.83mm

Hope the info helps.

Thanks
Pat

Sorry Pat, I was more interested in the bore hole size in the headstock. Again, sorry for the confusion. :( ;)

just double checked and the bore hole size is 17.98mm. this is the hole in the headstock (wood)

Cool. Hoping that's the same size as the U.S. headstock bores. I believe they are 11/16". I'll see about doing a conversion. Thanks again!
