I was sitting at home a couple of weeks ago - this is really my job now, sitting at home. The pay is terrible as are the hours but I have to admit that it's pretty easy.
Some dude to my north posted this AS I WAS WATCHING FB MARKETPLACE so maybe it was a sign from the Flying Spaghetti Monster. He was desperate for some new guitar amplifier and was willing to part with this impressively yellow Stingray. I looked around. Did I have a four string Stingray? I couldn't find one, even hidden in one of the hundreds of cases infesting the guest room closet. I guess I didn't have one. And that, I said to myself, is just not right.
I said, "I will buy that if you'll bring it to me on your way to Austin to waste your money on a guitar amp." And that's exactly what he said he would do, and he did.
My teenager and I looked at it for a while. Changed the old roundwounds to Cobalt Flats. Cleaned the fretboard and whatnot. With a little work, which is all I'm good for these days, it turned out to be a perfectly good bass. But that black pickguard? BEAUX-RING. Unable to make a decision, I ordered a green one, thinking it would be very forest-y (it was not) and the eyeball pickguard, which I thought was probably the better look (it is, it is, I don't care what you say).
Cheers!
