Looking for some suggestions, as I'm not overly familiar with some of the options that are out there.

I'm looking to get a 2x12 cabinet, pre-loaded. So, my first thoughts were Marshall/Mesa. However, I'm sure there are better options.

I'm kind of thinking V30's for speakers. I play mainly rock type music. VH and that kind of tone. I plan to use a 5150 head with it.

Keep in mind I'm looking for something affordable, not cheap, but not some bizarre boutique cab made out of wood from trees that have never been rained on or something.

Bonus points for something I might actually find in Canada.

Thanks.

Dont know how much they are in the US but the Custom Audio Amplifiers 2*12 is great. Quite compact, Vintage 30s and kicks out some serious bottom end.

Avatar makes some great stuff and it's affordable.

As for speaker choice- a lot depends on what amp you're going to be driving them with and what sound you're aiming to go for. I've got a Guytron 2x12 with a V30 and a CL80 in it and find they complement each other very well.

Came across Ear Candy BuzzBomb .. they look really nice, price is good too. Though they seem to really push Eminence speakers over Celestions?

Thanks, I edited my post to say what type of music and what amp will be used with it. Kind of an important detail. ;)

If you want to stay Canadian you may wnt to check out Traynor (Yorkville Sound).
I've the CV40WR combo with a Celestian vintage 30 and like the sound. Their 2x12 is a closed back with Celestian 70/80's. According the website the vintage 30 only comes in a 1x12 but I guess you could always call and ask eh?:)

For a bit more boutiquey stuff check out either Tone Tubby or Dr. Z's

One more quick thought- I've always been a fan of mixing speakers to get a richer sound. The V30 is well suited to rock with the 5150, but you might consider getting something else to fill the #2 spot.

This is one of those topics everyone's going to have an opinion on

Yeah I'd hear that as well, mixing the speakers. I know the sound of the V30's and like it, I'm not super famililar with any others though... I've heard some do the V30/G12T combination.

Traynor/Yorkville makes some great stuff dollar for dollar, I've been very impressed with their bass amps that have come through, we haven't had any of their guitar amps in here yet.

The guitar player in one of my bands uses a Genz-Benz 2x12". First one in the UK by all accounts & a nice sounding cab. He uses a 5150 as well as a Rectofier.

Yep John Suhr kicked butt on that design. He did it on a CAD program to
simulate a 4x12's response in a 2x12. Low end for days.

Thanks man!!!!!
I love my Rig... It really is the best sounding gear I have ever used.
I have been through So Many Amps through the years.
I am finally satisfied with my gear. It only took 15 years! :D

Some of the Avatar stuff seems quite appealing. Catch is they don't ship out of the US.

Wow, nice playing! I'm leaning toward the V30's even more after hearing that. I really liked the sounds from the Axis and Marshall amps.
