Yep, I'm making an album this week.

Recording exclusively with my 1994 Sterling.

It just keeps sounding better and better, can't wait to unleash some new material onto the world.

Big love for the Sterling and all these fine basses

We're using a studio in southampton which my brother built with the charity organisation SoCo. The idea behind the place is to essentially improve people's lives with music - but we have unlimited access to the incredible facilities there. We've almost finished a couple of songs, unlike anything we've made before. It's sounding fresh, funky, noisy and rough around the edges. So excited about this one!

This is the thing, very simple setup going on.

Sterling > Orange Terror Bass > Barefaced 212 Cab

Recorded with an SM57 and a big Rode condenser. I can tell you the sound is immense.

This recording process is interesting. There is no EQ or plugins of any variety involved - we're doing it as a bare bones project. I think yesterday we recorded 7 guitar parts, and the Sterling holds its own, and it isn't even mixed. I'm delighted with it!

cool, can't wait to hear samples..I'm a Jennifer Young fan..Her Sterling tone is massive...I'll be pulling a trigger on a Classic Ray in the fall..but I always waver when I listen to her tracks..
