Buy that its a cable that lets your direct connect your bass to your computer

after you do buy that and connect your bass and computer open up guitarband

Record. save. export to itunes. find your song in itunes your name will be the artist.

after you find it click on the song and then click advanced and click on convert to mp3

If is says convert to something else you need to go into your preferences and change

it so when you save music its saved in mp3 form goodluck its not that much takes

2 secs when you know what your doing... fasts way on a mac or any computer of

that matter

Going from 1/4" to 1/8" with that adapter straight into your iMac is going to give you less than stellar quality. If you do come around to wanting to get more serious and spend a little.. I would suggest this box from M-Audio

available at Guitar Center for under 200, comes with a nice software bundle too.[/QUOTE]

a 1/4 to 1/8 adapter WILL NOT WORK ive already tired that ... and 200 dollars is alot if you dont have it.... and if you already have recording software just buy that cable from my last post its like 20 dollars and your good to go the quility isnt OMFG THIS IS PRO RECORDED quility but its good

The adapter does work, you just need to use either a GarageBand software amp plugin to boost the sound, or use a preamp. I've done it with GarageBand and it works fine on my iMac G5.

Too bad they don't make one of these M-Audio Jam Lab things for bass: http://www.m-audio.com/products/en_us/JamLab-main.html

I'm thinking I might get one.
