So i got my new recording equipment today, have it all setup and stuff and it sounds pretty good. But now i have a question.

Right now, the box ( Which is a TC Electronic Desktop Konnekt 6 | Sweetwater.com ) is only acting as my recording input. But when i set it as my audio out in my control panel, nothing happens and the audio still comes from my computers sound card.

What i would like it to be doing is taking the audio signal from my microphone. But also playing audio from my computer. So that i can be listening to a backing track i laid down and soloing over while it plays back.

I was able to do it when i connected the cable from the computer sound card into the Line input on the unit, but it was very low quality and i had to really crank up the volume and gain on the unit to hear anything, and then when i tried to play over the recording, it was almost inaudible.

I'm not familiar with that unit, but you should be able to set it as the default sound device and have all sounds including windows sounds play through it. You would need to connect speakers or headphones directly to the unit.

you request is kinda "Doctor I'm sick, please heal me"

I guess you are addressing the wrong doctor, and without explaining clearly where it hurts there no much we can do

you should contact TC support, I'm afraid we will not be able to help you

especially not knowing anything about your operating system (Windows XP, Vista, 7, Mac, Linux, what else? )
