Hello,

I thought I would post up this new track:

https://soundcloud.com/kirk-farmer/stormy-monday-jam

I am playing my freshly refurbished red Axis hardtail. Literally, the guy who did the work on it handed it to me when I was already on stage and I let rip! I was very pleased to have it back!

He did a fret dress, put in a new bone nut, put the factory correct block saddles back on it and replaced the volume pot.

My solo starts at 3.59.

Enjoy!

Thank you! I was really proud of this one.

I was playing a... wait for it........ Roland Cube 80GX! Mic'd with a Superlux Mic. No pedals or external effects!

You sounded great, Tim. It must have been nice to have the old Axis back in such fine shape.

That Cube seems to be a pretty good amp.

We actually just got done listening to it as "background" music to my 5 year old's homework session. My wife, and myself enjoyed it. Not bebop enough for my little one though, lol. Very tasty!

Thank you! I will see what I can do about some added bebop for next time!

Wow, I've got the really small cube for practice. I don't think I can make it sound like that. Maybe I should pull out the hard tail EVH.........

I used the 'Metal Stack' sound which is supposed to sound like a 5150. A bit of spring reverb and that's it. Gain was at about 50%. The one I have does at least have a 12" speaker and is 80 watts.
