Shouldn't someone send this picture to Xzibit, maybe get some kind of 'Pimp My Ride' action going on it.
Mention that Tommy's a real big EBMM fan so that when they give it back to him in amongst the 28"rims, transparent plexiglass bodywork, and 50million watt stereo there might be a couple of Balls there as a little 'Surprise' ;)

In the UK any car older than 3 years must get an annual condition / safety check...if you drove that over here Tommy the cops would nail you in minutes!!

Now how many times the value of your truck is all that gear in the back?? :)

There are two things about that picture that I find a bit frightening.

One is that there's a speaker cabinet that weighs at least 100 lbs sitting way up high, with absolutely nothing to prevent it from launching itself over the hood of the truck in a sudden stop.

The other is that Guytron all-tube heads cost $3295, easily more than the truck is worth, and being all-tube probably don't take all that kindly to being banged around. For example, by being carried in the back of a rusty pickup with leaf springs.:eek::eek:

Y'all be careful out there!

Here's the deal-----in Delaware where Tommy lives, there's a tradition of giggin---I mean really giggin---all the time and Tommy's been doin it for 20 years that I know of. I was more from the Philly scene and 1 band i worked for did 325 gigs in one year--most of em 1 nighters. So round here--gear gets USED. It aint for lookin pretty or admirin'--gear gets used hard and put away wet. If you are a giggin musician there's no way to stop you gear from gettin beat-up---ya just gotta keep up on the maintanence(specially the tubes as you pointed out!!).

In the vintage car world theres a term for stuff that never gets used----I believe the word is TRAILER QUEEN!! Maybe we should coin the term CASE QUEEN for guitars that never get played!!!

Hey that truck is a real relic... you should try to sell it for a premium. I'm sure there's a sucker out there that would be willing to pay big bucks for a reliced truck:D

Nice truck. It's got character. I hope my Nissan makes it that long, and at 100 miles per day it will definiately get the mileage.

Now the scolding:

How could you put your guitars in the back? You wouldn't see mine there - too much environmental stress and jarring to knock their set-up out of whack. Plus acoustics don't handle heat or humidity well at all.

Maybe you could buy a van on May 30th 2007?

It's easy...just

take that thing to the dealership. Negotiate. All dealerships-cars, trucks, big trucks, etc are HUNGRY right now-no buyers in the market these days. No credit, good credit, bad credit-especially if it's a 2006 leftover since the 2007's are about to flood the market. It doesn't matter. Everyone can get financed today no matter how much they have to put down. Try it. You will thank me.
