wondering how they have faired compared to the battle tested maple necks as far as durability and maintenance.
what are likes and dislikes?

I personally think they are gorgeous on most guitars and ever since I played one, I had to have one on a guitar.

and are they the new normal for EBMM?? or are they still a novelty.

I think you meant to say rosewood, not redwood.

I can't remember anyone starting a thread complaining about anything about them...........

I've had mine since August. Number of times I've adjusted the truss rod since? 1. Why? When I initially set it up for myself. I use the EBMM STHB strings - so needed a little adjustment. Since then, I've replaced several sets of strings and switched out loaded guards twice, and the neck has been off so the body could be routed to accommodate some single coils.

Besides sounding fantastic, I find the Rosewood to be extremely stable, moreso than my experience with maple, which seems to need more adjusting with temperature and seasonal changes. It's awesome!!! :)

YMMV.

I bought mine over a year ago and have yet to make a truss rod adjustment. I make periodic adjustments on my maple neck Al. Every piece of wood is a little different.

My RW necked 25th came from hot and dry Texas to COLD and WET Nova Scotia (we've had a rotten spring weather wise). It's been played like crazy every day since I got it. Haven't had to adjust anything.

I've had my Axis SS for about three weeks now and I am the second owner and the neck is perfect. The original owner worked the guitar to the nth degree (he had to get it out of hock at the pawn shop for me to try), but she has help up beautifully. The action is extremely low and I put on a set of 10 to 46's, but I will definately get it set up by a pro. I plan on using 11 to 52's so the neck will certainly need an adjustment.
