The binding color on my Purple EVH's (after 15 yrs have passed) was pretty much the same color, so it should be fine .........

Ok, your CRAZY... but I too would love to see the results.

One thing to watch out for will be if the binding harmonizes with the Trans Purple. Red and cream harmonize well together but purple and tan may not work.

Wilkins quoted me a very good price on one of my basses to re-paint it so when I have the money, I am going to ship him the bass.

I'm glad you mentioned Pat Wilkins. I've used Michael Dolan in the past and had good results.

I should contact Pat and see what he'd charge for my Big Al 5 if I keep it.
