Hi all

I've been loving my reflex for a couple of years. I replaced the strings recently & now have noticeable fret buzz on the open D string. All others are normal & it doesn't happen when the string is fretted.

I've checked the neck relief & after a small correction it's better but still there.

Any ideas ? I don't want to take it for a new nut just yet

Cheers.

You don't say if you changed strings on a like for like basis in terms of gauge and manufacturer,

Yup same strings (10-46). I even changed another string to see if it was just a dodgy string. I also put some nut lube in the slot to free it up.

It would seem to me that if there was something in the slot then that would cause he string to sit higher and cause less buzz. There doesn't seem to be anything wrong with it. I'm finding it hard to locate the exact source of he buzz but I think it's the first fret

Thanks for your help so far

Yeah, I hear you. I've had the same thing before though- what I thought was fret buzz, but where I could never identify where it was buzzing exactly. Cleaning up the nut fixed it.

That said, it could be a low nut. Just sayin', it's an easy thing to try.

Check for loose screws on the tuners and bridge saddles. This vibration could be what you are hearing.
