Reflex Colors

I guess it just comes down to one of those "you can't please everybody" subjects.

Why aren't basses shipped with flatwounds? Why isn't the string spacing wider? How come gold hardware isn't standard? You have to go with the majority.

That being said, I think every colour being offered on the Reflex basses look very nice, even though they all may be conservative.

don't get me wrong, the white pleases me. it really pleases me. i've been hot for a white bass ever since that ivory classic stingray showed up. this new white Reflex with black binding is gorgeous. i give it a 10 and i'm definitely going to be "hitting it".

it's just weird, to me, that the bass that appears to be the EBMM flagship model gets the fewest color options.

Yeah, I think the black, white, sunburst and gold reflexes all look great, too. I'm not saying other colors are "better." I just think one fewer color options than pickup options and neck options seems odd.

I mean, between more models and more colors, I'll take more models. But, it seems silly to limit the colors when you have 16 different colors available for the Stingrays and Sterlings.

Heck, I think you could even get away with having a $400 option to add a figured top with one of the translucent colors for a "Reflex Deluxe." It's not like they don't have figured tops available, or the paint.

But, I've said that last I'm going to say on the subject. No one who could actually answer the question has made a peep in any of the color threads in the last 6 months, so we wait until they decide to add colors. Or, not. And, then it's "wait until someone is selling one cheap" so I can buy it and refinish it.

My new bass arrives tomorrow. Pics and details of my planned blasphemy to follow, I'm sure.

I hear you... or better, I hear my 25th 4 string HH, which is the same bass but with a fancy top... however, I have more basses than skills, need another bass like a hole in my head, and I should have bought the 5 string version, so... as bassmonkee said, it's pure luxury, and for that I'd love to have something a bit more fancy...

Not really. If you're on stage, colour of the instrument does matter... my Desert Gold and Dargie Delight StingRays look great, stand out and get noticed... in a good way. To me, it's part of the show.

LOL. Honesty! I like it!

I play on a stage at only about 1/5th of my gigs, and I usually end up driving home smelling like BBQ, or smoke, but I still want garish colors, damn it.

I'd bet if we all bought one or two Reflex's in the original colors, we may see more new exciting colors next year from BP. And even if he doesn't introduce more colors, we'd all have one or two killer Reflex basses. That sinlge H white Reflex with the black piping may be enough for me.

yeah....who knows...new colors could still be just around the corner with these guys.... i never saw a post fom BP that said these 4 colors are the only ones that will ever come on a reflex....ever.........
