Looking at the specs, can I say that the Reflex comes without a maple cap which account for a lesser price than the 25th?

I'm not sure about this; correct me if I'm wrong but I believe all EBMMs with the mahogany tone block have a cap of some sort.

You can view the Buyer's Guide on the web and download as a .pdf

Here is an upload of the page. I blew up the wording on the Reflex and HH AL to cover pricing info.

If you are deciding, get the Reflex...you will not be disappointed.

Thanks for linking to that. That's the exact thing I received in the mail, so now I'm off the hook for scanning it! ;)

It is more likely because of the non premium top, a standard finish and no pickup covers.

Hi All!!

I just want to chime in and say that they have the new Black Reflex at the Guitar Center in Greensboro. While talking to the sales person today, I did say that the Reflex is my dream guitar but with a maple top of some sort and a piezo option so I'm waiting until the big unveil at Summer NAMM.

The salesman then says to me, "I understand that. Would you at least want to try it? I can take it down from the wall for you."

My reply, "Dude....that's like taking me to a strip club! Why do I want to put myself through that kind of frustration?!!"

He just laughed and agreed.

"state-of-the-art electronics" "sophisticated"
these sorts of phrases are so overused nowadays, its a shame people who dont know what theyre reading about wont believe it, even though its true for once.

Reflex looks cheap and odd ? Not a fan yet of it's look but still be interested in playing one question: who would mainly play the reflexs? What genre?

It looks, feels, and sounds great in person. I hope this doesn't turn into another "it's not metal enough" thread. As for genre, I still believe the player makes the genre, not the visual appearance of the guitar.

It only will because Dean has gone talk show on us. Deano maybe you can see it in person and actually play it beforeyou categorically say it looks cheap.

The Reflex...(terramaze was taken...)hehehehe Sports a maple top and the ones without the pickup covers are GC exclusive....\]It is funny because when we put the covers on people didnt like it ...now they are used to it and not having covers in an issue. I prefer the covers.

Still love you dean.

BP, played one when I got my 2HB AL. The Reflex is a great continuance of 25th... That being said, I think the excitement over the 2hb Al is Partly overshadowing the coolness of the Reflex. I do think it is unfortunate that the first Reflex guitars are solid black tops (no Birdseye in the neck on the one I played) as they are still having to compete with some amazing maple tops on the 25ths that are still out there. I personally am excited to see what summer NAMM brings for the Reflex... hopefully some trans-maple tops. But anyone knocking the initial view of the Reflex needs to go play one.

Based on the notes BP appears to be playing, my guess is he's playing Erotomania by DT. :)

I think the Reflex will be extremely popular. It may take a little time, but I'm willing to bet you're gonna see this guitar popping up on stages of popular, professional guitarists all over.

I've been singing the praises of the Axis to all of my non-EBMM guitarist friends for years. After I let them play my guitar, there were mainly two things that put them off:

-It feels too small
-Don't like Floyd's

Other than that, they really liked the neck, the way it sounded and played.
The Reflex has an extended body behind the bridge, which should make it more appealing to the "It's too short" people. They don't have Floyds, so those people should be happy.

Very impressive guitar.
