All I'm saying is that there is a difference between a total relic and a cosmetic treatment. I just ordered a Steve Morse model and plan to have Retro Fret in Montreal replicate Ian's blue Morse.
It seems like a lot of guys are getting bent out of shape over what is ostensibly just a different paint-job. Like one of the posters above mentioned, I am sure that there were just as many who cringed over a lime green EBMM with martini inlays as there were guys that drooled - the same goes for a guitar that's been roughed up cosmetically.
It's a totally different beast than Fender relic's or others that completely overhaul the ins and the outs of the guitar to make it seem 50 years older.
That's just my 2 cents. I'll post pics of my guitar when it finally comes in.
