Has anyone ever taken out the tone circuit on a jp6, or any guitar? I love the way my axis "feels" but would it be overkill on a jp? Anyone have any experience doing this kind of mod?

And how about putting a kill switch put in its place? I think that could be cool.

I don't think it would be hard... as for the killswitch, if your JP has the piezo, you can remove the battery and the upper switch becomes a killswitch already.

Mine has no piezo. But would be interested in a kill switch in place of the tone knob. Given that removing the tone circuit wouldn't make it too bright or harsh. but if it makes it have more of a lively feel like my axis, I'm down.

If I had to insert a killswitch, I'd copy Buckethead's idea. He used an arcade button:

Search for images of his signature guitar, you'll see the 2 red buttons, both are killswitches.

I like the arcade switch idea. Most any use of a killswitch is for an momentary effect, so why use a toggle?

You can use the piezo switch as a killswitch (lower the volume of the piezo or plug into the bottom input).
Or just practice to lower the volume real quickly, you'll get used to it.
