It looks more like the vibrato system EBMM used to install at that time.
It had some kind of locking device behind the nut, probably due to licensing issues, since Floyd Rose systems with locking nuts were a "must-have" in those days.

I used to work in a music shop at that time and I sold two or three of these but I must admit that it was an absolute struggle to get these vibratos working so that they would stay in tune (sorry BP).

The vibratos that EBMM uses these days is wayyyy better!

I agree - that looks like the old Schaller bridge that EBMM used circa 1986-1990. I remember the string lock worked the opposite of the Kahler string lock - instead of the locking "pads" pressing the string down on the base of the lock, the Schaller locking "pads" pressed the string to the top of the string lock, which had kind of a horseshoe shape.

For those with early Silos - wasn't that trem set up to float, or is memory just the first thing to go.:eek:

Those Schaller bridges were also sold by Schecter for a while (say 1984/85) but every Schecter I ever saw with that bridge had it set up to only lower pitch.
