I'm missing a chunk of the nut next to the low E string. I have a Graphtech xl tusq nut (slotted) as a replacement. The bottom of the new nut is radiused. Anyone know if the slot is?

Any one have a suggestion for a replacement?

I'm pretty sure mine was flat but I seem to recall others were radiused. I'd call customer service with your serial number, let them verify the constuction date and perhaps and see if they can tell you for sure.

Or, take the nut out anyway and have a look. Some nuts had a downward post that sat in a hole in the nut slot so it may have to pull up vertically out of the slot if it won't come out sideways.

The Tusq nuts have a tab on the bottom that allows you to use it it with flat bottomed slots. If your slot is radiused you'll have to sand or file the tab the right amount for the radius for your slot (which should be the same as the fingerboard, so use can use that as your guide before installing). I think (?) the tusq nuts and string slots are radiused to 7.25" which won't match any EBMM neck so you may have to file the nut slots to get the string heights right.
