The covers take up a bit of room, so they often won't fit direct mount guitars unless the routes are a bit oversize.
Like this?Piggybacking off a 2 year old thread...in my search for telecaster pickups, i came across this thread.
here's an idea i would like to brainstorm with ya'll. I have an Axis SS with regular HH configuration. I recently played a Suhr tele (first tele i've played - ever) and the tone is unbelievable, maybe much of this is attributed to the pickups and/or the hardtail? Instead of buying a tele (which i just dont like the way they look) was thinking to experiment by fitting a pair of tele single coils in my Axis then cover the route opening with simple fabricated plastic pieces (or not).
Anyone ever try this out before?
thnx!~
that'd be great, and easy, if i had the pickguard version~~~~~nice axis~
a few months ago, i bought a dimarzio humbucker sized p-90 fantom. the pickup cavity is not deep enough and needs more routing. otherwise, i'd need to clip the mounting points which are integral to the cover. ended up with the p90 in my les paul (neck) combined with seth lover in bridge - nice combo~.Hello @Thors Twins
Perhaps you can try some P90 in humbucker size (Seymour Duncan Phat Cat for instance).
My ASS P90 behaves a bit like my Tele.
