Has anyone here replaced their pickups on their JP guitar and they were glad they did?

I love my EBMM JPXI, but I use it for more than just shedding.

I'm looking for more high end from the guitar.

I'm looking for any experiences here with the JP with other than stock pickups.

Thanks for your help ahead of time.

BKP Coldsweat/VHII Combo works very nicely. The Coldsweat tightens up that loose bottom end that the crunchlab is known for having, and the VHII is a nice neck pickup with some very sweet tones. Heard great things about the Miracle Man BKPs as well in the XI model.

And the Illuminators are nice, they're not radically different from the Crunchlab, but they just sound huge. It's a nice variation on the sound, but depending on what you're looking for I can probably make some recommendations, let me know what tone you're after.

Hi. Have you tried adjusting the polepieces? I dislike the CL/LF at first but after adjusting, they sound very different. Really love them in my JP6 standard. It's the only guitar in my arsenal with stock pickups intact.

Thanks Kenji for the suggestions. The tone I am looking for (believe it or not) comes from my Ibanez RG 570. With the stock pickups (which surprised me) the sparkling clean highs are what I'm missing on the JP. I'm looking for more clarity from the pickups on the JP. I enjoy playing the JP more than the Ibanez. I'm trying to get the best of both worlds with it.

One thing I've tried is mixing the piezo pickup in. That helps but I would rather save the piezo for acoustic like sounds.

Thanks bwow for pole pieces tip. I will try that.

I'm also going to do the compare again (Ibanez/JP) with fresher strings and a fresh battery.

More to come...
