Replacing JP6's humbuckers with Seymour Duncan

Hey there, I'm brand new to the forum(this being my first post:]) and I have some questions about pickups. I've always liked the stock pickups in my JP6 but lately they seem to be too lifeless/sterile. Especially the neck pickup. I'm really thinking about ripping them out and throwing some SD's in there to give the guitar some life. Which do pickups do you think would go best in my guitar? I've been thinking about the SH-5 Custom and Full Shred in the bridge but unfortunately I haven't had the chance to play either of them. I've got no clue for the neck. I want to be able to get a really good chunky distortion out of my guitar(Lamb of God, Opeth, Trivium,Killswitch Engage) and good cleans which SD has always been good with. Anyways, do you guys have any good suggestions, input or clips or anything that could possibly help me? Thanks so much

Oh I totally forgot to ask about this. How are the Crunch lab and Liquifire? I've been hearing good things about those.

Welcome, I was actually going to ask you about which JP you had seeing that earlier models had earlier pick ups.

Everyone here feels the Crunchlab/Liquifire are the best suited for the JP seeing that they are an evolution of JP's style. Otherthan that I can't say too much. I owned a JP with the D-Sonic bridge, which was great.

Crunch Lab and Liquifire would be my choices.

The Crunch Lab has a really broad frequency response. Sounds more "alive" than the D-Sonic. The Liquifire is probably the best neck humbucker I've ever heard. Fat and juicy without being muddy.

I'm sure someone here has a sound clip or two of both of them.

I've listened to a few sound clips so far and I have to say that I'm loving the tone of the Crunchlab and Liquifire. I haven't been able to find any clean sound clips. Are the cleans better than the stock pickups on my JP6?

The cleans are *different* than the D-Sonic/Custom Neck combination but still very good. The Crunch Lab is a higher output pickup than the D-Sonic so it's a bit harder to clean up. They're also voiced very differently from the D-Sonic/Custom Neck.

I really can't say that the cleans are *better* because they're so different, but they're definitely not worse.

Guitar World dot com has a small write up and video demo of the Crunch lab and Liquifire pick ups. I would post the link but the demo is done with a non MM guitar. Go figure?
