What the heck flavor of pickguard is on that thing? Looks like black with alien green swirls. I might have to get one of those too!

BTW, Fly...when you pay off the SUB, don't forget to put up pics!

:D It's actually a clear pickguard with this guy:

underneath.

I love the clear 'cause I can switch it up w/ a little photophop work. I've kept the Naked Lunch guy for awhile now though.

No.

The Sterling guard is a little different from the SR4 guard, too - not quite as symmetrical.

Sub 5

I'm a new member, but a MM fan since 1980 or so. I've owned several Stingrays and Sabres (too bad they stopped making those). I currently own a Sterling 4H, a SUB 5 and have a Sterling 5 on order. My SUB 5 is currently in pieces: a local shop is cutting in the arm and gut cut (contours) so it will be like the current model and not the pre EB slab bodies. After I get the body back, I'm sending it to Marty Bell for a nice silver flake paint job + I already have a couple of pickguards on order - one clear and one black (couldn't decide). This will be great for my disco band. I'll post pix as soon as she's back together.

Did I read this right, you are contouring the SUB bass? Please let me know where you took the bass to get it done. I am rather interested. The lack of contours in the body is the one think I really don't like about my SUB1 guitar. If it had an arm contour like my Silhouette Special I would definitely love it even more!
