Sorry to sound harsh, but if you can't find anything that EBMM makes that's to your liking, there are plenty of custom builders out there that would be more than willing to make a guitar to your specs.

Sterling might read your posts here, but this has been gone over repeatedly and it's unlikely that he'll reply. As has been said before, the musings of a single poster on a forum probably won't change much, unless you plan to buy enough guitars to justify EBMM tooling up to shoot the color again.

Also, there's a thread in the bass forums detailing pretty much every color EBMM has applied to a piece of wood-if you don't know what a color is called, you might want to start there.

Ah, ok, glad to hear you're digging the wood (no jokes please). There are tons of phenomenal tops on other EBMM guitars, it's not just the EVHs. Look at the recent thread on SteveB's new Y2D Morse - tell me that's not an unbelievable quilt.

Fading issues- as I understand it, this problem was limited to some of the EVH colours and was subsequently addressed. Trans back, for example, fades, as did the purple. EBMM switched the finishing process so this never happened again. You won't see any fading on an Axis. (See- even better than the EVH!)

As for the instrument builder, they're working on it. The site is due for an update but the guys are so darn busy building guitars that they don't always have time to do this stuff :)

Google usually turns up all the colours I need. Ask Fogman if you need something specific- he's got an enormous collection of pictures.

Again, if you like the EVH guitars you're in the right place. The Axis is a killer guitar and has a number of refinements over the EVH. So stick around and enjoy.

Wes I think that about sums it up don't you?

Look if you are looking for a discontinued color, they are out there, but your gonna have to search and probably pay as well. I know that Royal Music in NY has a bunch of Axes and in colors that they don't make anymore. Check them out, keep your eye open on EvilBay, I know, nobodies crazy about having to get the color of your choice that way, but you never know. Finally, keep an eye open here people seem to post different colors (ie. the Pink EVH) that they've spotted for sale.

I know how you feel I'm a sparkle freak, love the sparkle finishes!! But EBMM isn't going to bring them back, even though there is great demand for them from Forum members. BP has shown why and even though we don't like it, it always boils down the samething, EBMM is a business and they're goal is to make $ and sparkles didn't sell well.

Hang out it's a great place with great people and you never know, NAMM is coming up in a few days, they (EBMM) always seem to have a few surprises. :D

Good luck in your search. Glenn |B)

How about some of those neon colors from the late 80's? a yellow guitar with a green upside down headstock (2 up top, 4 underneath) and a pink pickguard. With matching cargo pants :D

Or maybe a new EBMM Death Metal model - leather covered body with tatoos all over the maple neck and body piercing tuning keys.

Down here in Florida in the 1970's there was a company called Veleno guitars that made aluminum guitars for glam bands - the limited supply they made are all worth a fortune now. A future big seller?

Trying to lighten it up. :D
