I'm really excited by the news of the BFR stuff, but some recent threads have been showing some cool colors like white sparkle on a Silo Special. I went into the new Long and McQuades store and they had a NOS Steve Morse in black sparkle, and my GAS started raging. Then I watched the Toto Amsterdam anniversary DVD with Lucious playing his black sparkle sig. GAS now out of control! I guess I'm just one of those weirdos that likes taking poor, defenceless fabulous American guitars and making them look like cheesy Italian guitars from the Sixties, but I REALLY DIG SPARKLE!
Any chance of seeing the re-emergence of some of the sparkles, particularily black, white, or silver? -Eric
P.S. My Albert Lee Limited with the RW board continues to amaze me every day. Did a show on a bill with a band I used to play with and the sax/guitar player (Ian Kojima from Chris DeBurgh's band; ears better than Scott Hendersons) came up to me after our set and raved about how amazing my guitar sounded. Highest praise indeed...

Sorry Lance, but the sparkles are making a return. Like Rob mentioned Blue Dawn's being offered for 2007, but that was only for 1 year and because of overwhelming demand.

Maybe we'll get lucky, but don't count on it man.

Now let's see some pictures of that AL???

I'm with you man. I've been wanting a white sparkle Axis Super Sport for years, only to find out they never made one. :( I have a black one and the white would have made the ULTIMATE pair.

Most of the pics of Blue Dawn EBMM's I've seen have been sparkles. Those LE for this year should be awesome!

I'd say outside of the LE series, the sparkles will be a thing of the past.

Not a Blue Dawn fan...different strokes. Guess if they won't make me a sparkle guitar I'll just have to settle for something like a quilt-top Luke BFR. Life is so tough...-Eric

P.S. Glenn, there's pics of the Albert Ltd. on some old pages that our own Spudmurphy put up. Dig back, they're lovely!

BTW, Speaking of Sparkles, I'll hopefully be adding this one to my collection next week.

cool a Burnt Apple Axis! Nice work!

I think the sparkles are magnificent. Such a shame they didnt sell when they were an offered option, some of the pics of those guitars are just the best. Maybe one day when the guitars are selling through the roof the guys might offer it again, or maybe a LE. Blue Dawn isnt the sparkle for me either, but maybe it will grow on me in the limited time it is offered, i might not be able to resist!

The ultimate sparkle would be Dargie Delight Sparkle... I still feel it's a terrible shame that DD isn't a standard colour option - there are simply too few green guitars out there!

Timing may have not been right for the sparkles. For you elders, think how belly button showing, hip hugger jeans would have gone over in the mid to late eighties.

Peoples tastes change rather quickly. What may have been blase' last week is to die for this week.

I've got my sparkle now so where the sparkle trend goes is'nt really in the forefront of my thinking. I've got visions of BFR's and F-1's dancing though my head.

The BFR Luke is really tickling my fancy these days. If anyone is going to NAMM (not me this year, darn it), could you please report on the weight factor? I read somewhere on this forum that Luscious' proto was a little on the heavy side, probably because of the mahogany toneblock. Sorry about the derail...Eric

Don't forget that there may be a BFR AL. I didn't think it was particularly heavy. Unfortunately, I don't think I ever got my hands on Lucious' BFR proto.

Ever since I got a sparkle silo my playing's improved. Ok, so even sparkle doesn't help that, but it sure looks good.
