Off Topic reverb pedals.....whatcha got?

My signal interference comes and goes. Some days are worse than others. Daytime seems worse than night. It's frustrating, so I'm just moving on from the toneprint pedals. I might keep the flanger on the board because it seems to have less of the problem. It's compounded when I use two of the tc pedals together.

Definately after a sexy reverb to replace the HOF.
 
As an alternative, if you are by chance looking for a great tape delay, you can check out the Strymon El Capistan which has a integrated Spring Reverb as a hidden feature. That is a great delay. I may eventually replace my TC Flashback x4 with that.
 
Just my 2 cents on the pedals picking up radio frequencies: try tightening your input jacks/cables. All pedals are prone to this, personally a wah I used to have would pick up radio as well as just a very high screech (which actually added a cool effect). I believe this was just the pedal picking up radio/microwave signals.
 
For old school spring verb in a full analog pedal, try a Mr Springgy by Lee Jackson... Very well regarded in the boutique world.

I once had a Vox wah that was so good at picking up radio, I'd switch it on at band setup just for something to listen to!
 
Subdecay Spring Theory,

This one is on my radar. I have a few other pedals from Subdecay but not the reverb. I have a rack with verb atm, so it's not necessary. Subdecay makes some great pedals imho.
Definitely worth a look.

I dont know if you guys have already touched on this subject, but radio interferance usually means faulty potting with your pickups.

I had a Malekko Spring Chicken, Blue Sky, and a TC Trinity (Hall of Fame variant). Through my setup, the Melekko and Blue Sky had a freq that was fatiguing to my ears. I think a lot of it had to do with my Black Shadow speaker as it has some highs that I try to tone down. The Trinity seems to be voiced nicely though so that's currently my keeper. Next week I have an Avatar 2x12 cab coming in loaded with V30s. That should tame some of the highs and may change my reverb choices.

I don't even have to have a guitar plugged in. Just turn on the Flashback and the HOF and I get all my sports radio updates thru a 212 speaker cab. Gives a whole new dimension to AM radio. Still sounds like poo.

Not familiar with Muza....I'll to some searching.

Sorry, but no, it has nothing to with potting (which is to stop nasty feedback at high volume from coil wires physically vibrating).

i'm a TC Electronics Trinity Reverb user at the moment

have used Dr. Scientist Reverberator in the past as well but i find the TC Product is pretty solid and gets the job done.

I'm eyin he strymon stuff though... gotta sell off some unused gear to fund it though .
 
The Strymon seems like the winner if I'm going to replace the pedal. I'm just not sure I want to drop 3 benjamins on a reverb pedal. To be honest, I'm not sure if I have good enough ear to really distinguish the difference between the pedals I'm considering, in an effect as subtle as reverb......at least not from the YouTube videos that I'm watching. I would guess it would be different in person.

I think first I'll try to keep the HOF on my board and replace my other two TC pedals. I have no signal interference if I'm only using 1 of the TC pedals. It will be cheaper to replace the Vortex Flanger than to replace the HOF. I already have a replacement coming for the Flashback.
 
$300 is definitely a good amount to swallow, but for me it's an always on pedal pretty much. Just fills out everything nicely and can go from subtle to much more pronounced. And the low/high and pre-delay controls can really make a difference. In the HOF you dont have any control of such parameters.

What did you replace the Flashback with? I actually have the Flashback x4 and also a Corona. Pretty happy with those without any issues.

I have a Hardwire DL-8 coming. Should be here in a couple of days. Seemed like a very comparable unit with a better looper on it. It might be a temporary fix.....we'll see.
 
Try not to judge based on YouTube. The quality of sound is so poor that nuances of sound quality are completely lost as far as I can tell. The Strymon stuff has a high fi quality which has to be heard first hand to really be appreciated. I remember having a rack full of stuff that produced close to the sound which the Strymon pedals so easily take in their stride. They really are wonderful sounding units. As for money, we are all different and place greater on lesser value on particular links in the chain. But we are only as strong as the weakest link is, be it cable or pedal or guitar. Not to say say cheaper is necessarily not as good quality, but the Strymon pedals will grow with you as a player. At least, that was my reasoning. I suppose they compliment my tone in a way that I could never get with other pedals. Personally, if I could choose only one, it would be the El Capistan since it does reverb just fine, and possibly the most ethereal and beautiful, retro or contemporary delay I have ever heard. Blue sky does all verbs and an awesome shimmer, and Flint does period reverb and tremolo to a host of amazing reviews.

50s player/ tremolo fan: Flint
60s player/ all rounder: El Capistan
Verb Encyclopaedia/ U2 fan: Bluesky

Having said all that waffle, they might sound naff with your rig, guitar and personal style...not everyone loves em. So try one if you can is my advice; with your own rig. If you really want dig deep with verb/ delay then timeline is the answer:
