Does anybody find it borderline offensive that a thread attempting to honor my late father gets hijacked into a rush thread...I'm outta this thread.....woW

FWIW, I don't think that was the intention...
I think the off-topic comments were the result of folks trying to point out just how out-of-touch the RRHOF committee is.

No doubt your father/family is part of RR history... and deserves that recognition.
To that end, I say start the grass-roots effort.

BP when has anyone asked what strings were on a song? Most people don't even know who played on them.

Those who know about EB know those who don't just don't.

We can all only be what we are.

Your father rests high in my heart every night as does you and the company that built my bongo.

I just know deep down you just can't tell the majority what to do.

Without exception, almost every Guitarist I've worked with has used or uses Slinky's. It would overwhelm to think about how many great records, live concerts, and performances have been defined by the sound of those strings.

The strings on our instruments are THE most essential part of our signal chain, more so than the rig we use; at least that's how I feel about my choice(s) of Bass Guitar strings. They need to either ring as new or age just right.

I remember going to the Dale's Ernie Ball Shop in Tarzana, small totally kewl vibe. Is that where Ernie originally did his thing?

Anyway, SURELY there is a place for Ernie Ball in the RnR Hall of Fame, it makes absolute perfect sense to anyone with even half a clue.

What do we do?

Whatever it is...

LET'S ROLL!

Think it should go without saying that there should be a big place there for Ernie Ball.

Anyone who doesnt think that Sir Ernie Ball and family shouldn't be in the RRHOF should be drawn and quartered. They also need to pull their head fron their A$$. I mean hell, they practically are responsible for the Rock and Roll movement. The people gotta have equipment. They gotta have strings, and who was it that stepped up to provide players with the stuff? Pretty self explanitory.

This is something I'm certain the entire forum could get behind....even those of us that come and go.

Ernie Ball's vision and this company, whether we realize it or not, has had a serious impact on everyone that visits this forum.

I'd be happy to help spread the word on Facebook if you guys get something going.

Ernie Ball is a brand name that is just as recognizable to a music industry employee as Fender or Zildjian

Jay, make me a co-admin and I'll help with photos and the grunt work.

Let's just do it.

Will do! I might be pm'ing you some messages so I can add your info on the page to make you a co-admin. I will start the page Sunday and get it started then. I have to work Saturday and will be there until late Saturday night but Sunday, I will hit this full force! The EBMM company has done so much for my family and I want to give back to them!
