OK, after a couple of days playing the GR here are some thoughts...
...first of all it is light as a feather. I guess I never held a lighter solidbody electric in my hands! The mahogany body resonates nicely and swings like crazy...very impressive to play this guitar even unplugged!
The neck (as one can tell from the pics) is just a dream.
The question has been asked how the Minibuckers sound like...all I can say is they sound HUGE...the cleans are as sparkly as one could wish for, just like I'm used from my AL's. Overdrive is just HOT -again: don't let the size fool you!
The minis have kind of a vintage-y sound, very warm yet sizzling (especially the bridge PU). As Pete mentioned kind of a secret weapon! Compared to the 20th (one should think that would be the closest comparison) it probably isn't as "meaty" soundwise (the 20th probably has the "thicker" sound while the GR sounds more "lively") but IMO even more comfortable to play (did I mention it's unbelievable weight?), one thing I like a lot is that there's a little more space between the Pickups.
All in all it's just an awesome instrument, plays smooth as butter and sounds as creamy as a milkshake...
Jackpot, homerun...no matter how you wanna call it but if you're on the fence for one of those don't hesitate, you might be missing out on a future classic.
