Roger and trussrod wheels?

All I can Vouch for is EB may not have been the first but you can Bet your Sweet Butt everyone has Copied theirs. That whole Wolf Gang Peavey Thing was a Total Ernie Ball Rip Off.
No Truss Rod Wheel Works as Good as The EB one. Period.
 
Without mentioning any names, there are a number of people doing little more than putting together parts guitars and selling them at inflated prices. The worst of them are literally putting together Warmoth and US Guitar parts and putting their own names on them for sale. I think BP called them "alleged luthiers." :) They are all benifiting from true inovators like Leo Fender (the man, not the current company) and EB/MM.

I for one believe there are 100 details revised,revisited,re-thought,replaced and reinvented by the R&D team at San luis obispo....and they're part of each instrument they make

btw what number is the adjustment wheel on the ebmm 100 list?
 
Roger and I have agreed to disagree about whether midrange controls belong on a bass or not for years now..what can I say?? He's wrong and I'm right...end of story.

I Agree also, Midrange is awesome, BUT, the trick to midrange on a Bass is where to curve it.

Midrange is great if it's right, if it's not then it's better on someones Bench then in a Bass.
Ernie Ball & The boys spent some time and they nailed their's.
 
Roger's Neighbourhood

Help me on this one; doesn't Mr.S have a good reputation originally as a guitar repairman, and then as a serious craftsman and developer of the 'hifi' sound in the ***der realm?
 
Lets not bash Roger...He is a great guy and the music world need's more of these guys. I dont want to get into who actually makes what for who but his basses are nice high end axes

I Agree, Roger S is a great person just doing his thing, He's always Proffesional and never Bashes anyone and His Basses are Nice. Their just not a music man.
 
I trained under Roger at the American School of Lutherie in '99 and he is one of the nicest guys in the business...like I said...we agree to disagree on midrange controls on bass....no "bashing" here. I love this man. Love his "vintage burst"s"

I've owned 2 Sadowsky basses and currently have one on order. Roger is a gent and he produces an exemplary instrument. Although the Fender clone tag is justified to a degree, they are completely different beasts.

absolutely BP, I wasn't meaning this as a bash RS thread at all merely the fun co-inky-dink of the trussrod wheel on Sadowskys. I have had the luck to play an NYC Sad 4 string and couldn't believe how well it did play and sound even though there seemed to be zero angle at the nut on the A string going to the post. He does put out some great basses. Apologies to anyone who thought there was mal intent behind the thread.:o

My two favorite basses on the planet: EBMM & Sadowsky. I don't care if Roger (or anyone else) gets there parts from Wal-Mart. It's the end product, the bass in your hands at a gig, that matters. And these are the two best in my book.
