Didn't have time to flip through it. I just ended up buying it to read later on. What a Load of Green, Yellow and Brown Diaper Leakage !!! Recycled Articles. It really made me think that Rolling Stone creates controversy to get people riled up to keep themselves relevant. I'm really Surprised though Madonna was not on the list because she holds an Unpluged Les Paul !! In my opinion there are 3 Music Man Guitarist that have Guitars made in their honour that should have been in the top 5 or 10. What a Joke. And I wont be making the mistake of buying a Rolling Stone Magazine again. Blah !!

I have to agree with you, I looked through the entire list and though most of those people deserve to be on there, many great guitar players were not there. As a metal/shred oriented guy, I can understand that the list will not be totally comprised of shredders, however there are some that obviously deserve recognition, Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Richie Blackmore, John Petrucci and countless others. It is dissapointing to say the least. However, there never will be a definitive list of greatest guitarists because the topic is entirely subjective. Someone, in this case us, will always oppose it. That being said I think that we can agree this list was nowhere close to a compromise between the genres.

Is this the same list as last year, or have they made a new list for this year?

I'd love to know the scoring criteria...
