I'm thinking a pair would make great boat oars.

Well I wouldn't call them that. For the money they are good instruments. When I picked up bass playing again after quitting for 14 years I first bought an SX and a cheapo Behringer combo because I did not know how motivated I was in getting back into it. My SX J held the line for me until I was ready for my first EBMM.

And the rip offs were Douglases.

It's a 90 dollar bass.

No one at Talkbass would give a happy sh!t if it didn't look like a Stingray.

It's a 90 dollar bass.

Has anyone here ever played a 90 dollar bass that was just outstanding?

Sell me one of your Bongos for $90 and I'll answer your question. I'll pay shipping.

That is crappy. I'd expect an domestic company that was slapped on the wrist once to respect copyrights, but I suppose that is naive thinking these days...

Hello all, I live in Canada and the other day I went into a new music store that opened up in my city. As I walked in the door the first thing I saw was a Stingray
hanging on the wall just off to my right. I thought wow, a Stingray in this city(small city). It was a maple neck with a black body and pickguard,single mm pickup. Upon closer inspection I seen that on the headstock it had the the name "Stagg" and it was priced at $249.00 cdn;
I was quite surprised as I was under the assumption that Olp where the only ones allowed to make Stingray copies.:confused:

Wow, at least "Vintage" have the balls to use a 3+1 headstock on their ripoffs, rather than "Stagg" who look like they got cold feet :p

Truth. Vintage guitars are actually quite good budget instruments! But yeah, blatant stingray ripoff; none more blatant I'd say!
