What's the other side worth?! :p ;)

LOL!:p Apparently not much since I can't get my wife pregnant. :(
Perhaps rosewood oil would help with infertility:D

Good luck with that.
It'll all work out the way it should.

BTW. "this is not a hijack", now back to our regularly scheduled thread! ;)

This looks a lot more attractive (IMHO) to pictures I've seen of the Rosewood Axis. It looks a lot more....woody if you know what I mean.

Is this a different grade of rosewood or a specially selected piece?
Quite interested to know. Thanks.

I want some of that chocolate plain cake baby!

Yes, good question. I'd like an answer to that question. Did they use indian, brazilian, what?
While I loved the rosewood axis that I played, I'd agree with your comments re: appearance. Probably due to one of two things: 1) chrome covered p/u set, and/or oiled body. It blends in a lot better with the unfinished neck. I really think its the chrome p/ups and chrome hardware on that finish that makes it look a little sharper than the axis (opinion, of course). Also, those black p/up rings that some people freaked out about on the 20th, really bring out the black lines (detail) of the rosewood adding to the "sharpness". Let's face it, that is an absolutely killer looking guitar with probably one of the best feeling necks available (based of the rosewood axis I played).
Now rosewood is generally considered a heavy wood with a tone similar to that of mahogany so it probably sounds dark, but who gives a s**t?
I absolutely love it.

I know that the finish is making all the difference for me. That rosewood looks much better without a poly coating. I'm still amazed how much I like the appearance of this guitar! What a great gift!

The "problem" about RAxis is- the grain is too nice (uniform), therefore every one sorta looks the same. If they opted for flat-sawn tops (wavy grain), RAxis would prolly look more interesting IMO. And I like the oiled body too, much easier to repair light scratches & dings.

Thanks, BP. You know, 8lbs. is a pretty good wt. considering it's rosewood. It's a beautiful guitar. I hope you enjoy it. I'm sure we are all looking forward to the extra pics. Have a great weekend.

I think it SHOULD be what they cost you... that's what the new owners would have to pay anyway.......

There might be some dealers that have ordered one for stock that you could put a deposit on. Check with Pete or just put out an APB on the forum - there are a few dealers who frequent here regularly.

I'm sorely tempted. I've 'mentioned' to Pete to let me know if one's not spoken for.
