Rosewood Axis Question

The only thing I've heard people complain about (perhaps) is the look of the top

since when have we guitar players been ever interested in looks?

Yeah, looks aren't everything. I'm more curious about a rosewood axis with a maple top for the tone. I think that would provide a good balance and sound killer.

I still can't seem to get an answer from EBMM about how long they plan on producing the rosewood axis or if they will ever offer it with a maple top. Has anyone heard anything on that or does anyone hear work for EB? Maybe I'll just have to wait for NAMM to hear what's new.
