Hi Andy,

got my hands on one in Munich a few months ago. While I did not have my own ASS with me that day, I did not find the rosewood ASS heavier - but that's just subjective me.
What I really liked was the neck and the sound of the instrument, plus these are not much to be found - especially if you found a lefty !!!

Go check it out if you can - should be a gem and a blast to play.

Cheers from Bavaria

"Go check it out"......always a good plan, but hard for us lefties......it's a long way from here to the USA!!!! As usual I'll just have to trust to luck.
Thanks for the info.....rest those ribs now!

The travel expenses turn a good deal bad....I buy most of my guitars blind....occupational hazard for the leftward

I've had to bypass the test driving phase and purchase my Balls sight unseen as well due to my lefty affliction, but I never worry...because I know what i'm getting is the best, and both guitars have surpassed my expectations.

My Axis SS feels like it's about 2 pounds more than the standard Axis model?

I have to check them all on a scale to be sure but my new Tobacco Burst with MM90's feel like an anchor compared to the others. I really can't believe how much different it is than the Pacific Blue Burst hardtail.

I know it's ash vs. basswood and has a trem, but it's a very noticeable difference. I swear it feels like at least 10lbs. It must be a really dense chunk of wood.

The rosey's I've played have all been about the same as my other SS's. All in the 7lb range or so.
