So, mother and mother-in-law-to-be coming to Paris to meet for the first time. The day my Mom arrives (ten minutes before we get back fro the airport) my fiancee and her mom disturb a guy who broke into our apartment. He smashed the bottom of door in, turned it into a giant cat/dog/man flap. He did get away, fortunately without anybody getting hurt. How great is this gal - first words out her mouth when she call me were - "some stuff is gone but your guitar is safe". The place was thrashed, all her jewellery gone and some electronics, though he left my back pack stuffed with camera and laptops etc. so it could have been worse). Not a great way for the moms to meet for the first time but it will be a story to tell.

Then I got sick. Fevers, aches, the works. The moms had a good time but I stayed in bed Friday night and most of Saturday. Felt better Sunday, then got it all came back again Monday morning, this time awful stomach cramps. I'm still in bed today. Not having fun!

BTW, the French police were very cool, not that they can do much, but their sense of humour and patience with our crappy French was greatly appreciated. Insurance company sucks though. I'm still waiting for a new door.

Oh, and figerprint dust is messy! It's also magnetic and hell to get out of the power port on my old mac book. Tip for future reference!

Anyway, thanks for the vent. I hope you're all having a better week.

I thought having the two mothers meet would be enough stress for the year.

Have there been break-ins in your neighbourhood recently? Most stuff can be replaced, but thankfully no one was injured or worse.

That sucks! Glad your guitar is OK and no harm was done to the ladies. Sounds like you've got a heck of a girl if those were the first words out of her mouth after her jewelry was wiped out! Hope you feel better soon man.

Sorry Kev to hear about that. Lots of bad people out there but lots of good people too.

Nothing to do with your story, but just to illustrate what I said above ...I left a laptop case on the train last week with a DVD writer in there. I had my laptop in another bag. Had a message from lost property office saying it had been handed in. So there are good people too. Hope all is returning to normal ?

Kev..tough go,man.had a similar thing happen last year..no guitars taken….the insurance people ended up being the biggest crooks of all..keep that in mind before making your final claim….don*t know if you can get neo citron in France…a great cold/flu powder..mix with h20,gin and lemon x2,and you*re in yaya land..wake up feeling fine the next day.Take care.

Been there Kev, it sucks mate. "Things" can be replaced, that's what insurance is for. Just glad no one was hurt that is the main thing.

The low life scum bags need stringing up.

Glad you are in good spirits
