Hi! For the third time I have opened a packet of Super Slinky's and found the hi E, B and G strings to be rusty. How is this happening? I'm in Bali, Indonesia.

How can it be a problem with the retailer if they're sealed? For the record, I've now switched to another company because there clearly seems to be a recurring issue (and the German distributor exchanged one rusted set for another rusted set and THEN said it's the dealer's problem).

Right. Because how they're stored and how long they've been sitting in an unfriendly environment could have absolutely no effect on even sealed strings.

The text on the packaging sounds like it shouldn't. And as I said, one of the rusted sets came straight from the distributor and looked exactly the same as the three or four that were bought in a box from a retailer and had been sitting for a quite a while since. At that point I felt it wasn't worth the effort to keep running around after a few € worth of strings and give someone else a chance.

ok, so obviously it's not just an Indonesian problem. We get so many fake brands here, at times i never know if i'm buying the real thing or not. And retailers here do not stand by their products at all, so if you buy something dud here, it's just bad luck. But this obviously sounds like a manufacturing issue. Does Ernie Ball know about this? Kind of a bummer, cos i like their strings... But it appears that its time to look for another brand...
