Question Sabre Bass Pickups

Hello and greetings from Germany, Bavaria.
I bought this 1985 Sabre Bass and I want to ask you if the big Pickups( 2" ) are original or has the previous owner customized teh Bass?
The later Sbres have all the smaller Pickups so I´m a bit surprised about this configuration.

Hi Anton. Welcome to the Forum.

Not original. The Sabre Bass pickups should measure approx:
3 & 1/8 inches long and 1 & 9/16 inches wide. The pole pieces should be underneath the pickup covers and not be visible. The neck pickup should have 8 smaller pole pieces for each coil (like two Jazz Bass pickups side by side).
