Hello everyone,
I have just received a brand new Sabre, however I am very surprised by the orientation of the pickups and their height.
In fact, the bridge pickup is very inclined and very high. The neck pickup also seems quite high.

The previous Sabre I tested were not like this in my memory.

What do you think?

Thank you for your expert advice :)

Best Regards

Hi, bonjour, salut, and welcome to the forum! That is a BEAUTIFUL guitar!

The data I have access to doesn't list factory pickup height for the Sabre guitar but most Music Man guitar models are

Bridge Pickup 4/32" (3.2 mm)
Neck Pickup 6/32" (4.75 mm)

...measuring from the top of the pickup to the bottom of the *open* string. Of course you can set the pickups at whatever height you like.

The angle thing happens commonly on many guitars with humbuckers. You can put a small piece of foam under the pickup to get it level if you like.

As a practical matter, how to the pickups sound as-is? Is the tilt negatively affecting the sound?

If not, maybe just play it and not worry - "if it ain't broke, don't fix it".

Should've not passed the QC on the instrument in this price range imo. Easy fix with some foam, but you may want to check the spacers under the bridge pickup. On the LIII there are two plastic washers under the mounding tabs, make sure those are seating evenly and centered.
