$300 from memory. A bit high but you're getting the complete setup.

I can't believe that pre-amp comming up when I was saying you wont get one

Anyhow, I have the wiring schematics.

A week or so back I think I saw some Sabre PUPs on evilbay...you may have to do a search.

I found some sabre pickups but they come with a body dated 86. i think it was around 450 dollar. still thinking to put some bassline or duncans in it.

The prob is that the evilbay neck PUP now has 3 leadouts instead of 2. Also remember that the Sabre PUP is physically smaller than the Ray so I don't think you'll find an after-market . Also in c.1983 the pre-amp change from the evilbay pre-amp to a Pre-EB Sting Ray pre-amp (current).\

You're going to have to spend big $$$s for something that's non-original.

Time for Brad ("bdgotoh") to weigh in!!!

Ever thought about a brand new dual- PUP Sterling. It will be cheaper :)

I think if you spend a lot of cash, time, and effort looking for these bits to come up on ebay, yeah it's do-able but like i say, could be expensive and it might take a while for the right bits to come up.

Also that body i linked you to, i wouldn't have said there was a huge market for it but you price it right and it will sell, no doubt.

Because of the added expense of restoring back to stock, this really doesn't seem worthwile.
Used (and compete original) Sabres show up all the time on ebay at decent prices.

I'm not certain Duncan even offers Sabre pickups...

I've bought from that ebay seller before, he's alright besides his high prices. He parts out instruments, so you may want to send him a message asking if he has any proper 78-82 pickups. (Sabre pickups are different than StingRay pickups) Then this project might seem worthy.
