I love my Big Al, but I never play it in active mode.
Also, I never ever use the bridge pickup on it's own, so today I simplified things for myself.
First step was removing the preamp and the batteries. Second step was having a pg made with just two pot holes and two minsiwitch holes.
Then I wired it up so that the bridge toggle up-center-down is bridge+middle parallell/middle only/bridge+middle in series.
The neck toggle is up-center down neck pickup/neck+ whatever comes from the bridge toggle/whatever comes from the bridge toggle.
This way I miss out on the bridge only and neck+bridge settings normally available, but I gain the neck+middle/bridge series, which is, to me, a fair trade.
I also didn't put a cap on the tone control, so now I have a producer knob
Converting it back to original shouldn't be more than 30 minutes, and no of course I will not sell the preamp.
