Today I shipped away my JPX due to EXTREME financial woes. This was easily the greatest guitar I've ever owned and my Music Man collection has now dwindled to zero. The forceable future of owning another Music Man is bleak - I have 2 kids with a third coming and I am in the middle of a Masters Degree and my wife is finishing her bachelor's degree starting in the fall.

The state of this economy is truly disheartening. One day, maybe, I'll be able to own another Music Man - which will MOST certainly be a JPX (as long as they are still made by then!)

As of now I've got a [email protected] I've had for almost ten years. At least I'll have SOMETHING? I'll hang around guys, I just wish I could share in everyones exasperations over how awesome these guitars are.

Sorry to hear about your parting ways...

on the bright side your Str@ will keep your musical skills up to snuff and when you get another JPX you'll be smokin... keep your head up. You did the right thing and your family will always know that as a father you made sacrifices to provide for them... I would do the same thing if i were a father.

Sorry to hear, but if it might make you feel better, you are doing the right thing - family and education should come first. I know when I was a young man I was forced with similar needs to sell everything except one guitar (and no amp). Little by little I rebuilt everything. Now that my kids are on their own and out of college, I can make up for the sacrifices I made. Hang in there

That sucks, but your degree will provide awesome chances to get as many guitars as you want.

Things are just that...material stuff that must flow between us all. You have them, enjoy them, then pass them along to someone else.

And the flow is never ending.

Well, sorry to hear of the news, but you are doing the right thing when it comes to family stuff. Just think of it that the JPX is just wood and wires. Your family is more important then that.

I too have a growing family. My wife has put up with all of my guitars through the years, and I too have let go of most of them. I still manage to hang onto some favorites that I use daily but let go of some really top notch balls. I have 4 kids, one is a 6month old.

Just think, once you have that degree, and are in a better financial situation, I'm sure that you'll start right back where you left off. The good thing here is that you are responsible about it. I can't say how many dudes I know just buy up all their gear on impulse, and have to suffer and take a major loss later when time and money is really tight!! keep your head up.

Its a process and a journey There will be Music Man's when you are back on your feet

No doubt this company will be around long after I'm gone. Best guitar on the planet with customer service that is "out of this world", and a CEO that is actively involved with the needs of his customers. Hang in there dude. It will be worth the wait.

I feel your pain. I used to own about 16 guitar, but I'm down to about 5 now. It all works out in the end. :)

Feel for you PRB but look at the long term benefits. It is not every married couple who have both partners shooting for a Masters and Bachelors degree! When everything is said and done you will more than likely be able to afford any ax you want down the road. Also stick around and keep up on whats going on.
