Hey man, there's one thing i live by and thats work hard, play harder!
I work and pay my bills Sooo,I like new toys and i make it perfectly clear to my GF
this is what i love,it makes me happy,it relives daily stress off my hetic work day and i've been doing this
for over 30 years(mostly as a hobbie, besides teaching)I won't settle for crap equipment so just bare with me here..
When i need to buy things for the apt,i save just as i save for a new guitar or amp.
She understands and she won't try to change that because then ultimately the relationship will fail.
Hope you can save some cash to buy another EBMM soon.

I say $1400 would be the right money on that , based on the current market. Several nice all original players have sold on ebay recently in the $1600 range. So figure deduct a bit for trashed case and replaced p/up.
However your friend may have not been aware of the current market and paid a little bit more ................

I was thinking I might be able to get up to $1800 from the right buyer, but I let it go for $1500. I felt like it was a fair price.

Update:
She seems to be over the Harley purchase. For Father's Day, I got a Harley T-shirt from her. She has been in a better mood, and not giving me **** about it. I know she's still not happy about the Harley, but she has not shown it.

I know it seemed like a drastic step, selling my guitar, but it worked the way I thought it would. It will also give me the opportunity to get maybe a different kind of EBMM later. I think I've run the EVH course to it's conclusion, it may be time to try something else anyway.

Looks like someone needs to check out the movie, "Fireproof".

It's not about what you buy or what you spend. It's about the sacrifice you make that shows that your relationship and your family come first (second to God, of course).
I mean, your kitchen.......you enjoy it too, right? I mean, you use it too. I'm sure it adds some nice equity to your home too, no?
Good investment.
Nothing wrong with a guitar, but maybe she's trying to tell you to put your relationship, which yes, could look like only her to your eyes, first.
Enjoy your bike. I'm sure there are hundreds, if not thousands like it.
Your wife?
Only one, dude.
It's ok to be a kid sometimes. We can always keep that, "I'm gonna be a rockstar someday", dream, I guess.
But as long as we take care of our manly responsibilities first.
Make sense?
That house is YOUR house. That family is YOUR family.
You are it's leader.
Lead.
