Yesterday Basscentral told me that my Bongo is in finishing right now. I spied a piezo-routed, dual H, Desert Gold Bongo body on the paint rack in several of the open house photos, so that must have been my bass.

What this means is that I'm at least two, and probably three, weeks away...it's got to get from SLO to Florida, then up to me in CT (man, I wish EBMM would drop ship...all BC is going to do is slap a new label on it and fire it right back out the door anyway).

So, what's sad about this?

I'm actually considering heading over to the local GC just so I can fondle their Bongo, in an attempt to take the edge off of the jones for a little while....

When you fall, you fall hard. My Carvin has served me very well and given me LOTS of great memories for several years. It's been very, very good to me and I still think it's a great bass, despite the Dude's stated opinion of Carvins.

Some of the best moments of my life happened while I was playing it...stuff that I'll recall with fondness 'til the day I die. I went from a hack to a reasonably decent bassist on that instrument, and I've got a real attachment to it that was very, very hard to break.

But actually hearing the Bongo, side-by-side with it...well, the Bongo really is that powerful. I'm a little wistful about having to sell the Carvin, but what's important are the memories, not the object. No regrets.

I'm really, REALLY excited about the future with the Bongo, and so is the rest of the band. Good times lie ahead!

I'm with you, I searched the factory over and not one sign of my Bongo. I'm hoping BP hid it from just to torture me... :D

No, he hid it to prevent you from stripping down to your cowboy boots and posing nude with it. Thankfully.

That image is hilarious :D
The smile, the bowtie, the boots...
Methinks the keyword is "secure"

I know the bowtie is hideous but I don't really understand why it's caused such an uproar.

I know exactly how you feel - I've got a fretless due in a week or so!

Got my fix at the Open House - there was a fretless Bongo there that I spent quite a bit of time with! :D

Hang in there... Weeks become days... Days become hours...
