Soooo…. I am really new to EBMM guitars (just got a JP6 Pearl Redburst, fully loaded). Does EBMM produce artist model guitars to the same specs that the artist’s play? For example, before Petrucci switched over to the BFRs, would he have been able to pull a JP6 off the shelf and it be ready to go? Same electronics? Pots and stuff? (I’m sure they do minor tweeks)

Just curious…

Albert Lee turns up to a clinic takes a guitar off the wall and uses that.

One forum member took his Albert lee guitar to a gig and Albert used it for a whole set !!

So yes they are the same - no tweeks necessary.

And Tony Levin....really, Dave LaRue, too.

They both occasionally get some fancy woods and tops and finishes, but nothing hot-rodded about the basses.

Cool, isn't it?

Very Very Cool!!!

Man, I'll tell ya, when I bought my EBMM, I knew I was getting something special! I have a nice Les Paul and a Strat, but there is something different about these EBMM guitars.. something that screams top notch quality and Pro gear (although I am far from a pro!).

Everything is the same: the PUPs, the pots, the strings, the string gauge, even the height of the pickups is the same (at least on the Morse).

Isn´t that great?

BTW. which forum member borrowed his AL to Al? Didn´t hear the story before.

When KBaim and I went to see Albert last year at a gig here in Vegas he brought along his AL and showed it to Mr. Lee then asked him to play it on stage, Albert was like "No Problem, I'll give it a go" ad he used it for his entire second set !!

A very cool evening

I forgot to mention that Albert made it a point to mention that his EBMM model, which can be ordered by anyone, is the same exact model he uses on stage

Very same. Check out the Steve Morse clinic thread. Steve bonded with one of the Y2D's that Dubaldo Music had in stock - liked it so much, he made of with it.

Pete, you ever get another one coming to replace it? Wouldn't happen to be a Purple Sunset, matching headstock, Floyd version.....would it? ;)

Same, although my JP required some decent setup when I got it. String height was way too high, and I know for sure JP doesn't play his like that.

Though to be totally accurate, he did tweak his amp a bit when he switched to my AL for the 2nd set. Not sure which knobs he fiddled with.

Seems so crass reading it that way, it actually went down as Albert posing for a picture with it (and with me) and then me saying "if the fretboard wasn't so gunky, I'd ask you if you wanted to have a go with it during the 2nd set".

Albert noodled a bit right there and said he'd play a tune with it. Then just got into his music and stayed with the guitar the whole set.

BTW Doesn't Luke use a sustainer in the neck position in a lot of his lukes?
