Same guitar, different necks?

Do any of you guys own the same guitar but notice the necks are quite different, I have 2 axis with 2 totally different necks, but more recently I was shopping around for another silo special and I played a few that were totally different than my number 1 silo special, not sure how that could be, I thought they were all cut by a computer of some sort?

If i'm not mistaken, they use CNC machines too a certain point then finish them by hand, thus making each neck the same, but yet different.

I can tell you from experience from owning multiples of the same guitar with different feeling necks.

hince why some guitarists latch on to one guitar and only use the others, even when sig models, every once in awhile.

Candid I love your silos, actually if you took the pickguard off the autum redrise and put it on the blue pearl thats my exact guitar, out of curiosity what guitar do you prefer, the rosewood board or the maple board, mine has rosewood but I might make the next a maple -

Thanks. It's a tight choice, Lock, but the blue with rosewood board sounds so freakin' sweet, I'd have to go with it if I had to unload one. Hope I never have do though, cuz the maple has it's own really nice thing goin' on. Brighter, more pop and twang, and I can get the action lower on it without it buzzing or fretting out. I like its looks better than the blue one too. It's really a coin toss, they each have their own thing, quite different sounding from each other.

Btw, that's an autumn redburst.

If you're considering another silo with a maple board, I say go for it. There's enough difference between them to justify having both.

my 3 AL's have slightly different neck sizes, my Pinkburst is massive compared to my Blue Pearl.

My friends Luke feels very different to mine... but then he uses different string guages to me and his action is different... and how the truss rod is set.. ie.. neck relief will also affect how we percieve the neck on different guitars... they might be identical but set up differently..

All my guitars feel slightly different. The EVH has the thinnest neck of them all.

Can't tell any difference between the necks on my 2 SS, except for the fact that the older one has always felt slightly "sweaty", whereas the other one doesn't. Anyone else noticed this??

The necks on the twins are oh-so-slightly different.
And, there are slight differences in tone .
Do I prefer one over the other? No. I love 'em both

The Maple on my DG Silo is totally fatter and maybe even a lil' wider than my Sapphire Black which has that broken in totally played feeling...and also the esteemed longest member of my guitar stable of late...I've sold ALOT of guitars in the last few years...lol.

Went to the local music shop and played a CBP JP for fun the other day. The neck feels about the same (going from memory) but the color of the maple is lighter than mine. Kind of looks 'creamier' on the headstock where the clear coat is... The unfinished part is a little lighter too. I like it a little better than the slightly darker wood on my MD. Anyone else ever noticed this?

My Red Axis has always felt sweaty, and far more sweaty than any other guitar I own.

Only that all maple necks get darker with time and use, and possibly oiled necks in particular.
