I use both in front of my Peavey Databass.

I use the Xciter only in front of the Bassman 400 or any other amp where I like the tone of the preamp.

The SABDDI can enhance your tone and make your rig sound fatter and warmer.

The Xciter makes your rig sound bigger and deeper, but doesn't change your tone a whole lot. The Xciter is a great little box-it makes your combo have the tone of a huge rig (yet it doesn't have to be cranked or overdriven to do so).

I see that you want to go Ampeg (from the amp post). You might wanna check out a the SABDDI first since it can do a very good approximation of an Ampeg SVT. The Bass Xciter is totally cool if you like your tone, but want it to sound bigger.

WellI, I have an Ampeg svt. The BDDI has not a similar tone. Not at all. So I use them both

The SABDDI takes some experimenting. I can't use the suggested settings. To me, like I said, it is a good approximation. A good way to tell if you want to get the real thing eventually.

You use it with an SVT? Doesn't the SVT sound good as is?
