Stallion will not makes its debut.....we are still working on it...the 13 is something JP and I came up with...this is a really cool guitar...back to 17" radius......basswood with toneblock and maple top.....rw fretbopard and the new preamp system that totally and transparently cleans every thing up...you can set the level to up to a 10db boost.....JP is loving it as does Luke in the L3 Only comes in silver NOte that we now use the shape of the inlay to identify it as a JP and just put the number in the inlay....????

Thanks for the info, and have a great day! I like the idea of the number in the inlay.

nice! thanks for the update. I'm sure that whatever kinks you and JP are working out, or whatever the delay is, it will be well worth it. Any chance for some pre NAMM photo or a teaser of the new JP13?

Big Poppa,

Any reason why he went back to a 17" and rosewood......I know he must love diversity as we all do but Im always intersted in the mindset on these models (JPX, XI, 12 and now 13)

Wait...the Stallion was supposed to be revealed at NAMM, but now basically a week from NAMM it's been delayed? Meaning it won't be revealed at NAMM?

What happened? I've been dying to see this!!! Seeing the amount of revision/planning in it, it's going to be mind blowing...

A 17" radius is still plenty flat for me - as long as you stick with stainless steel frets, you have a winner in my book! It really sounds as though JP is going "back to the roots" as far as woods go... now we just need a maple neck and it's full circle... with quite a few improvements! Does the preamp clean everything up at unity gain as well - to me the Crunch Lab is massively hot as it is.

Cheers

I notice a lack of a BFR inlay. Will this be a BFR.

Thanks for the update, but I was really waiting for the Stallion.

JPXIII looks nice and I bet it will be .. but I guess I need something else.

Thanks for the update, BP! Totally intrigued by the stallion, but liking the specs on the 13. I think it's great that EBMM provides so many different variations on the JP model. Options are good!

Hate to say it....but the inlays are terrible. You omitted what is probably the most important inlay that one references on the fretboard and left nothing there. Perhaps the standard JP could have been left @ 1 and then @ 12 make a new inlay design notating it as the 13. It's really off balance and the void at 12 is glaringly obvious. I'm going to guess that the stallion was supposed to be 13 and this was put together at the last second when it was realized the stallion wouldn't be done.

I have a few questions, as I am looking into possibly snagging a JP12 soon.

First off, will all models be losing the BFR inlay and being replaced by a BFR neckplate starting this year? Or will it just be the JP13?

Second, if the BFR inlay is being removed from the other models, will it be replaced by the typical 12th fret 2 shield inlay found on the original JP model, or will it have the empty gap shown in the JP13 advertisement?

Also, why is everyone saying JP went "back" to a 17" fretboard radius. From what I can tell, it used to be 15" and changed to 20" starting with the JPXI. So while the radius has gotten more round again, it is between the original shape and the shape found on the JPXI/JP12 unless I am missing something.

Darn, was looking forward to the Stallion, but I guess the wait will just make it better for everyone in the end!

The Stallion sounds like it's going thru many prototypes. It may never see the light of day as a JP model if he doesn't green light it. Remember the setneck from a few years ago. The R&D probably went into the Armada.
