EBMM guitars are pretty similar to what Satch desires in an axe--------based on clasiic Fend** shape but updated.

You guys crack me up! The brand loyalty is awsome, but lets open up to things. I was lucky enough to attend a small gathering last year with Satriani and Lukather on hand as guests. Joe has a ton of guitars in his collection (Kramers, Gibson, etc.), and commented on many different brands/makes all in a positive manner. Many of these guys give each other their signature models as gifts. Yngwie has a JEM in his collection. I doubt he bought it.

I LOVE my Music Man's. I currently have an SM-Y2D, and a Luke, but I'd never part with my Eric Johnson Strat, my Les Paul Standard & Johnny A. hollowbody, or my JS1200CA. Its ok to like or own other makes/models. Diversity is good, and certain styles/tones call for different guitars. All brands have their good/bad points, and I like to experiment with the different design concepts, electronics, etc. that this brings to the table.

Guitar players are hilarious. Other instrumentalists don't appear to get so wrapped up in the things we tend to do about our guitars. They buy a horn and play. Many don't even upgrade as often as the typical guitarist or own several different models. And I think signature models are far and few. Correct me if I'm wrong. Is this a blessing or a curse? I don't know, my horn friends don't spend near as much on gear as I do, but miss out on some of the fun.

I saw the NAMM video when the JSX was launched. Satch talked openly and in a complementary manner about all the other amps he likes! Let get real people!

+1 JP Buttercream.

I have a JS1200CA and it's easily one of my favorite guitars. The tone and playablilty of that guitar is simply amazing. It has Fender and Gibson tones depending on whether or not the stock push/pull coil splitter is engaged and the neck is just awesome. Like a comfortable Fender C.

But like many here I have a bunch of different guitars and my favorite varies from week to week. ;) With so many great guitars out there I find it impossible to be 100% loyal to any single brand.

As good as Joe is I imagine he could be handed just about anything setup well and in tune and play just fine. :) Even more so with a guitar as nice as a Morse!

maybe BP will get a phone call.......

Yes i was wondering what he thought , and probably he said to himself i just love my Ibanez , i wish it was in my hands right now .........

If you're going to have an artist like Satch on your endorsee line, you're probably gonna have to give him the freedom to use other stuff occasionally.

I recall reading in a european interview that he asked Marshall repeatedly if they would be interested in making a signature model amp for him or maybe just a one-off hot rodded thing and they told him no, on the grounds that he didn't use Marshall exclusively.

I love Satriani, when I saw him live he grinned from ear to ear the whole time he played - I've never seen anyone who looked like they got so much joy from playing. Even my wife said: "That's a man that loves what he does."

its nice to see really top players smiling on stage, you dont have to be all doom and gloom. I love watching Morse and Luke for that reason. the two players i wish would smile more are Zakk Wylde and John Petrucci. dont know if i'll ever see Zakk smile too much on stage.....

Love Zakk's playing but smiling doesn't go w/ his latest biker schtick and type of music. Totally opposite image of when I forst saw him w/ clean long hair, clean shaven, and slim. Who am I to judge, I only get one haircut a year and that's a #1 buzz.

I've love Zakk Wylde's work. Everything from his Ozzy stuff, Pride & Glory, and Black Label Society. Amazing player and has a lot of respect for guitarists that came before him. He shows a lot of respect to those players. I just find this whole biker image getting a little old.

I love Zakk for all those reasons too!

Have you seen the Aqua Teen episode with him in it? :D

yep Zakk is certainly a monster player, check out a tune called Farm Fiddlin', holy smokes that is great! just wish he'd lose the drunk andry biker thing, when he was younger i really liked his image and personality, say around 88 to 93.

I'm going to try and find Farm Fiddlin'. Interested in hearing it.

Yes, his image was much different back then. I remember the first picture I ever saw of him. I believe it was taken just after it was announced he was going to be Ozzy's new guitarist. It was in Hit Parader magazine. He had this 80's glam metal hair style. Very funny stuff. I wish I could find it.
