I caught pieces of it (I'm a huge Cardinals fan and the game was on) but I've got it recorded. Satriani is the man! Great chops, great tones, strong melodies.

I'll be broke on Tuesday. I'm going to get the Satriani CD/DVD sets, the Buddy Guy "70" 3CD/1DVD/Book Box Set, and I'm going to see Zakk Wylde's BLS that evening.

Last, Sunday night I saw Zappa Plays Zappa, not a show to be missed! If they come to your area, do yourself the favor and go see them. Dweezil did an excellent job. Vai was amazing!

i think he's changed a lot since 1987!!!!!

Yup, sure has !
Got Crystal Planet CD playing at the moment..... just awesome stuff.
From the superb melody and feel of "Love Thing" to the pure building energy of "Crystal Planet"

Can't wait to see this years G3 (Satriani - Vai - Petrucci) !!!

Dizzy i like you! Crystal Planet is my FAVOURITE Satch cd, brilliant stuff. Secret Prayer is a great tune. his tone on this cd is just excellent, best songs too.

Yep, Secret Prayer is very cool.
This CD is Absolutely his best stuff...
Sensational tone, and great mood variation throughout the whole songlist.

eg.
House full of Bullets : Ballsy all out jam tune
Love Thing : pure emotion.
Train of Angels : Very Patriotic !

Next fave CD would probably be The Extremist

I've got some sensational Satch Backing tracks too (covering almost all albums)..... close your eyes and it's like having Stu and the gang playing with you ! :D

I haven't kept up with Satriani since Surfing With the Alien.
His music just doesn't do much for me anymore. :)
It certainly was a great guitar album and I'm in the same boat as Jeff. I've seen Satch live twice, the second time I left early. I must be getting old. Good news though, the night they filmed the Satriani show they also filmed Eric Johnson's set. That show will also be released on DVD. I will still buy the Satriani show because I love guitar instrumentals and want it to be supported any way it can. I even bought NorM's CD, go buy it.
