So this was the first time I've EVER seen Steve Lukather play, or for that matter ever heard him play. I previed some samples on Amazon and have some stuff in my wish list. I saw the later show at 10:30 standing at the bar bymyself since there was the stupid seating crap. But anyway, the band was AWESOME. There was a lot of crazy improvisation they were doing. Steve was a very funny guy with a lot of crazyness to him. I already kinda knew about it from being here at the forum. It was more like stand up comedy, hahaha. He played really well, but he seemed to look tired to me at some points. Probably from the previous show he played. He was dancing around a lot and just havin a good time with the rest of the band. THe only thing that sucked was that they did not play long enough, but that's alright I guess. I got the CD El Grupo, which is basically the same exact set what they played that night. He played an extra tune from his Santamental album dedicating it to his "new wife" who is "f***ing AWESOME!" I freakin walked home from 42nd street all the way to my house on 105th, and listened to the El Grupo CD like 4 times over. I think he was a little tired and possibly drunk as well, because it seemed a LITTLE sloppy, than on the record. But than again I dont think his amp was turned up loud enough for me to hear it clearly. So I guess forgoet the sloppyness. I'm just being honest here. Overall, he is a f***ing great guitar player with a lot of spirit and is high on life, which is great and ejoys every minute of being on the stage. It was a GREAT experience and I will see him whenever I have a chance.
Robo, signing out. Peace mofos! :D :p

My favorite part was trying say thanks for a great show to the band after the second show and having the gigantic security guard grab the front of my shirt and ask me "CAN I HELP YOU?!!?" at which point I turned to walk away and he followed me asking me over and over.
Great show though.

The more I see live footage of Luke, the more I'm impressed. I recently saw some footage of him with Nuno in Japan and he was outstanding.

Roubster, didn't you say you're going to see Yngwie at BB King's House of Blues on Dec. 1st? If so, chances are I'll be up in the area, and I might catch him again.

Yea, man I'm definatly going for Malmsteen. I already got my ticket. It should be really fun since it is a small intimate place with an open floor this time. PLus I never seen the guy play live before. I'm on a quest to see all the awesome guitar players. I am on a pretty good role seeing Satch, Morse, Vai, Petrucci, Holdsworth, Johnson, Vin Moore, LUKE, Macalpine.
