SBMM AX4 Tremolo Bridge Question

Hello! I'm a proud new SBMM AX4 owner and have a question about the double-locking tremolo bridge. Previously I owned a Peavey Wolfgang with a Floyd Rose that was set up to only dive-bomb. You couldn't pull up on it. But the bridge on my AX4, which was set up at GC, is set up to float and and can bend either direction. I don't mind that unless it's not supposed to be set up that way and will cause issues. Can someone tell me the way it's supposed to be set up and also how to adjust it, if necessary? I can't find a user manual for it online.

Welcome to the family!
AX4 is in fact set from the factory to be a "Dive-Only" trem. Did someone route out the top, or did they just level out the tremolo?

Thank you for the welcome and reply! I bought it brand new 3 days ago from Guitar Center and don't think it's been routed or modified. Looks brand new all around. Being a former Peavey Wolfgang owner, I remember the bridge on my Wolf being flush and parallel with the body. I noticed right away on the AX4 that the bottom plate of the bridge was tilted a little backwards and wasn't flush or parallel with the body. I pointed that out to the GC salesman and he said he would give it to their tech to look at and adjust. I came back a couple hours later to complete the purchase and take the guitar home. Now the AX4 bridge was parallel with the body, but it was not flush with the body. It's raised maybe an 1/8'' off the body. It plays fine and I actually like being to bend up at times, but not at the expense of tuning instability or if it's not supposed to be set up like that. Hopefully my reply makes sense and thank you very much for your help!

Yeah thats a crap setup, its dive only just like your old wolfgang, just lower the posts, and retune, maybe adjust the trem claw if needed and there ya go.

Congrats on the new guitar and that guitar you bought is a very nice guitar, that was a bad setup by the tech as it should be flush with the body, make sure you do contact Brian as he stated in a couple of posts above and he will make sure you are all set on getting the setup right on it...
