Those with experience let me know what you think. I'm looking to try 7 string but not ready to lay down the cash for a jp15-7 or jp7. Since I just spent some serious ebmm money. So I'm looking at sterling to give me some Similar feel to my ebmm guitars. So I see the 170d comes with liquifire/crunch lab pickups and the 70 or Koa comes with some sterling designed pickups. How are these pickups and which of the 7 string sterling do you prefer playability wise.

i own a JP70 stealth black, got it with the bridge PU changed to a Crunchlab, the neck is still original.
sounds fine for me as it is now, but i have to say, that i do not that much solo stuff on the 7, it's more the guitar i used for heavy riffings. so the neck PU on this one is not as important to me as on a 6 string guitar.
but it works :)

the handling is nearly like an original EBMM JP7, but the feeling is a bit cheaper. nothing beats an unfinished birdseye maple neck! the neck on the JP70 is unfinished as well, but it's just "normal" maple, which does feel different to those awesome figured EBMM necks.

but otherwise, it's a cool 7 string guitar, with the look and handling of a JP and this works for me.
have to say, that we do only 2 songs at the moment with a 7 string...if i would have to play it for an 1 hour show, i would get myself the original EBMM JP7 again, which i sold 5 years ago (idiot!
